Panchagavya Ghrita (PG) is an Ayurvedic medicine consisting of five components, namely, cow milk, clarified butter from cow milk, cow urine, curd from cow milk, and cow dung juice. It has been recommended for treatment of Apasmara (epilepsy), Jvara (fever), and Kamala (jaundice) in Charaka Samhita.It is also known to have hepatoprotective and immunostimulant properties.
PG alone as well as a constituent of many formulations has been shown to possess neuroprotective and anticonvulsant activities
